SEVEN members of Crediton Parish Church Choir achieved their Royal School of Church Music Gold Awards recently, and were photographed at the Nine Lessons and Carols service on December 23 (at which there were 52 singers!).

The Gold Award is a very challenging enterprise, and Mark Perry, Director of Music said that all seven worked extremely hard indeed to prepare for the examination.

He added: “We believe having seven choristers with Gold medals is possibly something of a record!”

He continued: “Eleven other members of the choir were recently presented with RSCM Long Service certificates for a combination of 244 years’ service! In addition to this, in September 2017 our Chairman, Jo Ward, was presented with a certificate and medal for 60 years’ service in the choir!”
