INVALUABLE funds have been raised by Crediton Bowling Club to support the Hospiscare Hospice at Home service, following the death of one of its long-term former members.

John Abbott passed away on June 3 and had been a member at Crediton for many years, bowling more recently at North Tawton Bowling Club.

John’s son-in-law, Jason Sinclair, undertook the Centurion Running South Downs Way challenge in memory of John.

He ran the 100 miles from Winchester to Eastbourne in 23 hours – well within the 30-hour cut off limit.

Members of the Club, along with other friends and family, kindly donated to support Jason’s run on June 11.

Hospiscare provided much needed support to John and his family.

The Hospice at Home service costs £70 per hour and only started in the mid-Devon area in April 2022, following a generous donation from a local benefactor.
