This match produced Crediton's forth "Hot Shot" of the season – when a triples rink skipped by Colin Fribbens - had the club's second triples "Hot Shot" of the season over a rink skipped by former Crediton bowler Robin Scott.

Saturday, June 13 – six mixed rinks v Combe Martin (home) P Martin lost 12-20, R Rook won 24-13, T Newberry won 24-12, R Fickling lost 18-19, T Hopper lost 18-25 and C Theedom won 18-14. Crediton won by 114-103 shots.

MEN'S OVER 60's TRIPLES LEAGUE

Crediton 'A' and 'C' teams have both lost their unbeaten records in the Exeter and District over 60's men's triples league.

The 'A' team lost to league leaders Exonia 'A' by 28-41 shots - but Crediton 'C' team were beaten in the local derby game with Crediton 'B' by 13 shot.

Wednesday, May 27 – two men's triples 'A' v Starcross 'A' (away) R Fickling won 22-9 and J Theedom won 20-13. Crediton won by 42-22 shots. League points – Crediton 'A' 8 – Starcross 'A' 0.

FOXLAND TROPHY

Friday, June 5 – two men's rinks (one rink playing home and one rink playing away) v St. Thomas.

Crediton had a narrow four shot win in the first round of the Foxland Trophy. M Theedom (H) lost by 16-19 shots and P C Moon (A) won by 26-19 shots. Crediton won by 42-38 shots. But they could not repeat their success from the previous game when they were beaten by a strong Exonia 'A' team. C Bond (H) won 20-10 and M Theedom (A) lost 9-31. Crediton lost by 29-41 shots.

MEN'S CLUB PAIRS

Sunday, May 31 – Entries were down on previous years for the men's club pairs due to a clash of dates with the men's Devon County Pairs.

The final will be contested by Peter Page and Larry Parker who will play Arthur Turner and Trevor Newberry.

Round One: C Fribbens and P Cookson lost to F Warren and R Fickling by 29-32 shots, I and R Grant lost to C Eakers and R Gunn by 7-22 shots. C Ladd and M Haywood beat D Rainford and T Chamberlain by 24-12 shots.

Round Two: F Warren and R Fickling lost to C Eskers and R Gunn by 16-20 shots. C Ladd and M Haywood lost to P Page and L Parker by 16-21 shots. J Robbins and K Luxton beat E Staite and P Milford by 22-19 shots. G Mitchell and J Clements lost to A Turner and T Newberry 22-25 shots.

Semi-Finals: C Eakers and R Gunn lost to P Page and L Parker by 7-25 shots and J Robbins and K Luxton lost to A Turner and T Newberry by 18-24 shots.

MEN'S MIDDLETON CUP

Crediton bowler Mark Theedom was a member of the victorious Devon's men's Middleton cup team that won all their first three matches.

They beat Gloucestershire by 152-80 shots – picking up a maximum 22 points. They then went on to defeat Herefordshire by 132-96 shots – picking up 18 points. In their third game which was played at Exonia, Exeter, they beat Wiltshire by 139-73 shots picking up 20 points. They will now play Worcestershire in the final weekend of the group stage.

Thursday, June 4 – two ladies' rinks v Heavitree (home) C Bishop won 22-18 and J Martin won 19-16. Crediton won by 41-34 shots.

Thursday, May 28 – two ladies' triples v Madeira (away) M Grant won 15-13 and M Grant won 27-13. Crediton won by 42-26 shots.

Tuesday, June 9 – two ladies' triples v Topsham (away) D Bright lost 15-16 and M Grant won 19-10. Crediton won by 34-26 shots.

Monday, June 15 – two ladies' triples v Exonia (away) D Bright won 32-5 and M Grant won 18-12. Crediton won by 50-17 shots.

Tuesday, June 16 – two ladies' triples v Morchard Bishop (away) M Grant lost 15-16 and M Stevens won 18-13. Crediton won by 33-29 shots.

Wednesday, June 3 – two ladies' rinks v Paignton 'B' (played at Abbrook Park, Kingsteignton) Crediton ladies' had an excellent win in the first round of the Ladies' Interclub. C Bishop won 26-18 and J Martin won 31-12. Crediton won by 57-31 shots.

Crediton now play Seaton at Phere Park, Exmouth, on Wednesday, July 1.

Sunday, June 7 – Joan Martin will play Christine Rainford in the final of the ladies' Club Championship. Round One: C Marshall lost to M Stevens by 5-21 shots, C Bishop lost to M Abbott by 12-21 shots, M Grant beat C Haywood by 21-14 shots.

Round Two: M Stevens lost to M Abbott by 10-21 shots, M Grant lost to C Rainford by 19-21 shots, M Radnor lost to J Heal by 8-21 shots, J Martin beat D Bright by 21-15 shots.
