THE annual "Crediton Courier" competition for the Best Decorated Christmas Shop or Business Window will again this year be decided on votes by "Crediton Courier" readers who return the voting forms printed in the "Crediton Courier".

Windows should be put in place by Thursday, December 4 and remain in place until noon on Monday, December 22.

Voting forms will be included in the "Crediton Courier" published on Thursdays, December 11 and 18.

The public will be asked to vote by noon on Monday, December 22.

No photocopies will be accepted. Please note there is no theme for the competition other than Christmas.

Shops and businesses can encourage their clients/shoppers to complete the voting forms, and the forms should be returned to the Crediton Courier c/o Crediton Library, Belle Parade, Crediton EX17 2AA by the closing date.

The winner of the competition will be the shop or business with the most received votes.

The winner will receive the Crediton Courier/Chamber of Commerce Rosebowl.

Certificates and other prizes will go to the winner and runners-up, courtesy of the competition sponsor, Morrisons of Crediton. A presentation will be made to the winner and runners-up.

Adams Home Hardware was the winner of the Rosebowl in 2024 and 2023.

In 2024 the runner-up was Crediton Card Centre with Bedford and Co placed third. A E Lee (Outfitters) was highly commended as was the Hospiscare charity shop.

• Crediton Town Council’s Light’s Switch-On event is on Saturday, November 29.

The event will begin at 1pm and run to 6pm with the Lights Switch-On of the giant 25ft tall Christmas Tree, at 5pm.

Crediton’s Late Night Shopping evening will take place on Friday, December 5.
