TO celebrate their Christmas meeting, members of the Crediton and Area Branch of Devon Senior Voice (DSV) sat encircling a small Christmas tree, and enjoyed some spicy mulled fruit juice (kindly made by the Chair’s daughter), along with warm mince pies – all accompanied by seasonal carols.
Due to there being no speaker, Sally Lougher - Devon-wide executive administrator - took the opportunity to discuss some possible scenarios for the future of the organisation, in preparation for the changes in the New Year.
Chair, Carole Towler thanked Sally for her contribution. Secretary, Paula Kovacs, distributed the newly printed leaflets for 2018, thanking Ron Cuthbertson for their design and printing.
A full schedule of speakers up until August has been booked, with talks focusing on health and well-being for the over 50s. Topics will include: acupuncture, osteopathy, massage, exercise and, even, ballet for the over 50’s!
The next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 10, between 2pm and 4pm at the Meadow Suite, Lords Meadow Leisure Centre.
There will be no speaker, but there will be an important discussion about issues to take to the DSV meeting the following day (January 11) at Matford Park, Exeter.
