ON Friday, May 6, a concert version of War Correspondents presented by the Helen Chadwick Song Theatre, will be held at Sandford Parish Hall, starting at 7.30pm.

Shaun Chambers, Benedict Hastings, Rebecca Thorn and Helen Chadwick present the concert which bears witness to those who risk their lives in extreme circumstances in order to tell the truth to the outside world.

Chadwick and creative collaborator, Miriam Nabarro, interviewed more than 30 journalists working internationally in conflict zones.

Helen has transformed parts of these interviews into songs. “I keep hoping that some day, if we keep telling the truth, it will be better for all of us,” so said a Liberian journalist when speaking about why he felt compelled to take such risks telling the stories he dared to tell.

Tickets are available on the door priced at £8 (£7 conc).
