THE Exeter Police and Community Choir gave an excellent concert at Crediton Methodist Church on Thursday, October 31.

There were no tricks but lots of treats – an excellent evening very much enjoyed by a large appreciative audience.

The soloist Ava Fitzhugh displayed maturity of voice and stature far beyond her 15 years.

Ava is a local girl – a pupil at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton.

She sang several arias from opera and items from musical theatre.

Ava has won “Young Singer of the Year, Taunton” this year and “Young Singer of the Year” at the Exeter Performing Arts competition.

Ava has a bright future in musical theatre and when her name is up in lights in the West End, we will be able to say “we saw her first at Crediton Methodist Church”.

After taking out choir expenses, £185 was raised for the Crediton Methodist Church Refurbishment Fund.
