THE annual Maypole Dancing at Coldridge was held in Coldridge Village Hall due to the inclement weather on May Day Bank Holiday Monday.

Revived more than 12 years ago, the annual event is popular with not only the children but also the adults, many who also took part in the dancing.

The usual musicians were unable to attend but recorded music was played, accompanied by Colin Munday and Ron Lawrence.

There were the usual scrumptious cream teas during an interval and the attendance was so good that they were almost on the verge of running out!

There was a cake stall and a raffle and funds were raised for St Matthew's Church, Coldridge.

Many people went along to just sit and watch and enjoy the music for the dancing and to catch up with old friends.
