THERE have been some big improvements made at Sandford Parish Hall, and the hall committee would now like everyone to go along and see what has been done.
Mike Snow, chairman, Sandford Parish Hall, told the “Courier”: “Many people have commented how nice Sandford Parish Hall’s toilets are now they have been refurbished and what a difference the paving has made to the outside area.
“This work has been on the agenda for several years and finally, with the kind help of Andrew Webb in planning and managing the projects, is now complete.
“The Hall committee is also very pleased with the work and thanks go to Ross Stephens and Alistair Kidd for their diligent work on both projects.
“Of course this all costs a lot of money and we would not have been able to afford these improvements without the grants and donations which we have received and a special thanks to The Big Lottery Fund for £10,000 (and thanks to everyone who plays the National Lottery); Mid Devon District Council’s TAP (Town and Parish) fund, £2,243 (which was the largest amount to any parish in Mid Devon last year!); Tesco “Bags of Help” £1,000 and The Norman Family Charitable Trust which donated £500.
“The sum of £5,000 was kindly donated anonymously and another £1,250 as Gift Aid added to the donation.”
Mr Snow explained that to mark the completion of the improvements, a Coffee Morning will be held at the hall on Saturday, March 16.
Yvonne Pope from Crediton and District Access will be cutting a ribbon to mark the completion of the new works.
“There will be no admission charge, we just would like to show off our wonderful hall!”
He added that the hall committee was always looking for new ideas and people to join its committee and asked that if anyone would like to find out more, they are welcome to contact the secretary, Rosie Cheriton by email at: [email protected] or telephone on 01363 772696.
