FOLLOWING the Covid break CODS eventually got back to performing its annual musicals in August 2021 with the highly successful “Sister Act” and then followed this up with another show stopping performance of “The Sound of Music” this Easter.
In September, CODS was able to perform its very popular Musical Evenings in the Boniface Centre, which this year had the theme “Best of British”.
CODS is fortunate and grateful to the many members and Friends of CODS who support these sellout events, leading to tickets being unavailable to members of the general public.
After a break, CODS October production is back.

“Spamalot” is a very challenging musical but with its humour, delightful music and technical artistry, guarantees an evening of fun and frivolity for those watching.
Many members have been attending rehearsals and have gone away having spent the evening laughing out loud so you should be guaranteed an enjoyable evening of entertainment.
The production sees the return of members who have had some time away being joined by new members.
I know many were disappointed not to see Buffy performing in our last production but she was showing her other talents in superbly fronting the wardrobe crew. She now returns as “The Lady of the Lake”, playing a character who is a diva and moaning for much of the show that she’s not being given enough to do!
Most characters play multi roles which mean for many there are quite a few quick costume changes.
Having welcomed Phil back to play Captain Von Trapp, he is fronting Sir Galahad as well as filling in his other roles. Kristian and Mike have been away from the group for some years but the desire to be involved in “Spamalot” was too great.
Kristian last performed with us in “Jesus Christ Superstar” and although living in Plymouth travels up twice a week by train for rehearsals, being met at Exeter St David’s by fellow member Anthony Pugh and driven across.
Mike last played the lead in “Witches of Eastwick” but again was drawn back by the popularity of the show.
The dates of the production are Wednesday, October 26 to Saturday, October 29 at 7.30pm in QE Upper School, Western Road.
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £12.50 for concessions. To order either follow the Box Office link on the CODS website: www.codsonline.com or email me direct on: [email protected] .
