FIRE crews from Chulmleigh, South Molton and Witheridge attended a fire at a property at Leigh Villas, Chulmleigh, just after 5am this morning, Monday, September 24, where a fire had started in an airing cupboard.

The occupant of the property rang Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and was advised to evacuate the property.

Upon arrival crews located fire within an airing cupboard of the property and set to work extinguishing it using two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet.

A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear the property of smoke.

The cause of fire was believed to be accidental and no injuries were reported.
