MEMBERS of St Swithun’s Church at Sandford were delighted to welcome Tavy Class from Sandford School to the new extended churchyard at St Swithun’s, to plant more than 100 trees and shrubs given by the Woodland Trust.
The rest of the trees will be planted on the school grounds as part of its "School Force" weekend where members of the community and local businesses volunteer their time to improve the school and its grounds.
This year the School Force team is planning to create a new pond area as well as other exciting developments.
St Swithun’s Sandford would like to encourage local residents to spend some time in the churchyard. The wildlife, flora and fauna bring joy to many and the church would love to see more local residents from the Parish use the churchyard.
It is a beautiful spot for quiet contemplation.
