INSTEAD of our normal monthly meeting, members and friends of CHERITON FITZPAINE Women’s Institute hired a coach to take us to Otter Nurseries.

The coach had disabled facilities, and was paid for out of a grant obtained from the Devon Community Foundation.

We had a lovely day wandering amongst the plants and merchandise, and enjoyed chatting to our friends in the restaurant. Thank you to Mary Burchmore for organising the trip.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 21, when our local historian, Elly Babbedge, will be talking about “Illegitimacy and Murder in our Village” in the Parish Hall at 2.15pm. Visitors are welcome.
