SEVERAL members of Cheriton Fitzpaine Garden Club travelled to Bow Garden and Aquatic Centre on a recent Thursday evening, where the management had kindly opened the Centre especially for us.
We had a short talk about making garden ponds, where to site them, how to maintain them, and attract wildlife, and were then able to tour the shop and buy items at a discount. This was a very enjoyable evening.
During a recent lunchtime, three members of the Garden Club, David Nunn, Paula Mossman and Charles Mossman, together with staff from the primary school, helped the children to plant seed potatoes in pots to grow for the August Potato Competition.
The pots and compost were bought, along with more tables for the shows, with money from an Awards for All grant.
Our next meeting is on Thursday, April 18, when Steve Adams from Crediton Garden Centre will be talking to us about their plans for the future.
