A LOCAL charity is asking people to join in with a group exercise event tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, from the comfort of their own garden!

CHAT (Churches Housing Action Team) is a charity helping the most vulnerable in our community, with problems surrounding housing and debt.

Its priority during the current crisis is to ensure that everyone has access to essential food items by keeping its foodbank running.

It is asking people to take part in half an hour of running, jogging or power walking around their garden to help support CHAT.

Organisers on behalf of CHAT, Georgie and Jennifer Bricknell, said: "Let’s help make a difference!

"Let’s get the whole family involved in half an hour of group exercise, between 10.30am and 12 noon tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, and help contribute to our community by donating online or giving to CHAT’s food bank collection boxes in Tiverton’s Tesco and Morrisons stores.

"We’d love to see as many people taking part in this as possible, so please share this with family and friends."

Everyone is reminded to stay safe and practice social distancing while taking part.

Email Jennifer on: [email protected] if you would like to join in.

Jennifer added: "I believe CHAT is doing an amazing job at this time, helping so many people in difficult circumstances with the real basics in life - Food!

"We are really looking forward to using our skills to get people moving and raising some money, please do join us."
