THE Crediton and Area branch of Devon Senior Voice (DSV) is hosting a "Care in the Community" event on Crediton Town Square on Thursday, July 9, as part of the Crediton Festival.

The event will run from 10am to 2pm and will feature a good mix of local voluntary, statutory and private organisations who have already signed up to have a stall.

These include: Age Concern, Alzheimers Society, Crediton Access Group, Crediton Care Services, Crediton Dementia Action Alliance, Crediton Branch of Devon Senior Voice, Crediton Foodbank, Crediton branch of the Royal British Legion, Devon Insight, Hillbrow Residential Care Home, Living Options, Lords Meadow Leisure Centre, North Devon Healthcare NHS Trust, Oakhouse Foods, Select Homecare, Tiverton Community Transport and Unite Carers.

There will also be a Qigong session led with Soozi Fernley between 1pm and 1.30pm.

Residents of Crediton are encouraged to go along and take advantage of this opportunity to learn about the various services available in the community and receive some free information or advice.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Alhambra, an old time music duo.
