THE charity ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) is encouraging organisations and individuals all across Devon to hold an ELF Cream Tea in their workplace or community during June and raise money to support families affected by blood cancers and blood disorders across Devon.
More than 600 people each week are treated at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for a blood cancer or blood disorder and ELF supports patients and their families, providing practical and emotional support as well as funding a counsellor, general therapist and clinical nurse specialist within the ward.
All money raised through the ELF Cream Tea will enable the charity to support more families during difficult times in their lives.
Mags Naylor, Chief Executive, ELF, says: “We are thrilled that so many people across Devon are supporting ELF this summer by holding an ELF Cream Tea.
“The money raised will enable us to fund more services within patients’ communities making their treatment easier and less stressful. Devon is known for its cream teas and I urge you to hold an event and support the work that ELF does.”
If you would like to host your own ELF Cream Tea, please go to the website: www.elfcharity.org.uk/creamtea , email: [email protected] or telephone 01392 247725.
