CREDITON U3A (University of the Third Age) currently has a display of photographs in Crediton Library about its activities.

Running until the end of October, all are invited to pop in during opening hours and see what’s happening in your local U3A.

Crediton U3A is a not-for-profit co-operative for people who are retired or semi-retired to share their knowledge, skills and experience with others in the organisation through various interest groups.

The Crediton group currently has 228 members and would like to welcome more.

Many groups run regularly such as craft and art groups, meditation, tai chi, walking groups, pub lunches, French and Spanish language groups and many more.

For the full list of groups, information on how groups are set up and how to join please see the website: u3asites.org.uk/crediton .

There is also a monthly open meeting on the third Wednesday each month at the Boniface Centre starting at 10am, doors open at 9.30am for tea/coffee and biscuits and a chance to chat to other members.

There is a small admission charge of £1.50. Each monthly meeting features a speaker and the group has already enjoyed a wide range of talks on many different subjects.

The subject of the talk in September was “The Building of Exeter Cathedral”, and was given John Allan.

The next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 18 when Stewart Raine will give a talk on “The History of The British Jews”.
