IT has been another busy few months for Newton St Cyres YFC members.
At the end of September members held their annual harvest supper which was a great success and very well-attended.
Members donated money to Devon Air Ambulance Trust and ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) from events they held throughout the year.
The club held its AGM, which brought a change of club officers with Georgina Davie elected as chairman and Rob Davie as secretary.
The club’s new members evening was held earlier this month, involving an evening of games and plenty of laughs, and attracting a couple of new members.
Autumn brings carnival season and the members created a “Farming Frenzy” themed float.
Last weekend members danced away at Okehampton Carnival, receiving Highly Commended for their float. This weekend they head to South Zeal carnival, with Hatherleigh Carnival on November 12.
Some of the members got involved with an “Intro to Streetdance” and Katie and Georgina Davie competed in the County “Just a Minute” competition, with Katie receiving best female speaker under 21.
Club members Millie Murphy and Georgina Davie completed the Great West Run in Exeter on October 16.
Young Farmers’ is a great way to meet new people and enjoy a range of social activities, whilst learning new skills.
You do not have to be a farmer to become a member.
