AS Spring moves into Summer, the busy schedule continues at Holy Cross Church in Crediton.

People may not realise that we offer services that are not just confined to Sunday mornings in church.

On Sunday, June 4 (and most first Sundays in the month), there is All Age Worship at 9.30am in the Boniface Centre. There is no communion at this shorter, informal service which is fully projected with accompaniment by a band of musicians.

Every Wednesday at 10.30am, there is a short communion service in the Lady Chapel.

Both these services are followed by refreshments. Or why not try Sacred Space which takes place one Sunday each month at 6pm? This is a reflective service of hymns and readings. All are welcome at any of these services.

As well as all our services, we have a number of events coming up:

• Saturday, May 20 - Beetle Drive in the Boniface Centre at 7pm for 7.30pm start; £5 to enter with a raffle and tea/coffee/biscuits.

• Friday, June 2 - "Going for a Sing" at 10.30am in the Boniface Centre. Fun, informal singing group, no charge (donations only) with refreshments.

• Saturday, June 24 – Crediton Arts Alive from 10am in Crediton Parish Church. You are invited to come and join this all day celebration of the local different creative talents - whether by performing or by being part of the audience.

If you would like to take part and book a performance slot – individually or with others – contact Rev Lewis Eden on 01363 779632 or email: [email protected] .

Performances of musical numbers, a soliloquy, reading poetry, playing solo or with a band would all be welcomed. Refreshments available in the Boniface Centre.

• Saturday, July 22 - from 10am to 1pm in the Boniface Centre sees the welcome return of the popular Book Fair. Please note the date with more details to follow.

• Saturday, August 12 – Meat Bingo in the Boniface Centre. Doors open 6.45pm with eyes down at 7.30pm. Tea/Coffee and Raffle.

• Mid to end of August – "This is my Story" is a new photographic exhibition which will be touring churches in Devon throughout 2023 and will be at Crediton Parish Church for two weeks in August.

The exhibition features a series of 16 black and white photos, accompanied by the subject’s unique faith story in their own words.

• Monday, August 21 to Saturday, August 26 – there will be a pop-up Bric-a-Brac shop in church all week with a wide variety of items on sale at bargain prices.

• Saturday, August 26 – Heritage Open Day at Holy Cross, from 10am to 4pm, which provides an opportunity for visitors to appreciate why the church has been designated as a Major Parish Church and to see parts of the church not normally open to the public.

So as you can see, it's all go at Holy Cross and we sincerely hope that something of what's on offer - whether worship or social - will be of interest.
