THERE is joy for dog owners in the Crediton and Mid Devon area with the opening of a brand new private dog field.

Pooches Paddock is in the heart of the beautiful Mid Devon countryside in the village of Copplestone.

It is a five-acre secure paddock and it can be booked to enable safe exercise and fun for all dogs.

It really is a perfect space for dogs that are reactive to other dogs or humans, for practicing recall or just for a large area to let your dog play without the worry of them running off.

There is a secure car park, dog shower, indoor and outdoor seating, agility equipment and stunning views over the surrounding area.

Pooches Paddock has been created by Brianna and Jamie Mackenzie, who live locally.

They invited the County Councillor for the area, Mrs Margaret Squires, to officially open Pooches Paddock, on Saturday, March 5.

Mrs Squires cut a ribbon to applause from the invited guests.

Mrs Squires said: “I wish this venture all the luck in the world.

“I can see the field from my home across the valley and have known Brie personally since she was very young.

“I hope that we will have some well exercised dogs and that they have great fun in the paddock.”
