LOCAL children enjoyed an Easter Bunny Hunt which raised £250 for First Bow Scouts.

The event, which took place throughout the Easter Holidays, was organised by Gemma Jackson of Paint Pots of Devon, in Crediton.

About 30 ceramic bunnies, decorated by Gemma, Deb Morris and members of First Bow Scouts, were on display in the windows of local shops and businesses along the trail in Crediton.

Trail sheets were available for the children to record where they found the named bunnies and there were clues to help the children find which bunny was at which location.

Prizes were awarded to: first place - Jo, second - Ralphie, Ruan and Nell and third - Hayley.

Gemma said: “Thanks to the Crediton Morrisons and Tesco Wellparks stores and Bow Co-op stores for donating the prizes and treats for the children.

“We had about 250 entries.

“It was really good and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

“It took about two hours to complete the trail and during this time people used local shops and cafes to buy refreshments.”

She added: “Look out for more competitions at Hallowe’en and Christmas.”

All the bunnies will now be auctioned online. For details or to place a bid email: [email protected], telephone 07854 716032 or find on Facebook.

All the money raised will go to First Bow Scouts.
