FROM the time they opened the doors of the Village Hall to the time they closed the kitchen down, Tedburn St Mary and Cheriton Bishop Scouts were kept busy serving breakfasts.

There was a queue of 30 waiting for the first servings on Saturday, January 13 and it just went on all through the morning, Scout members scurrying with the plates of breakfast, toast, cups of tea or coffee or clearing tables all morning.

This was in aid of the Scouts’ summer camp.  More than five dozen, 60 eggs, were cooked, bacon and sausages supplied by Oinkers Farm Shop just up the road, everything else bought as locally as possible.

Helpers included Andrew Smith, Scout group chairman, and local Scout Leader Simon Evans.
