THE Radio Devon Air Ambulance Appeal is  £615 better off thanks to members of Crediton Bowling Club.

Bowling Club president, Cynthia Bishop, who chose the charity ahead of her year in office, said that the money was raised during the last season.

She explained: "We held three draws, three spiders, put up a wrong bias, collected donations on a club tour and raised it in a number of other ways from club members.

"I would like to thank those who gave donations or supported us in any way."

The Radio Devon appeal is aiming to raise  £600,000 to enable Devon Air Ambulance Trust to buy its second Air Ambulance, which will save it money by not leasing it.

Collecting the cheque from Cynthia at Crediton Bowling Club were BBC Radio Devon presenter Matt Woodley and local fundraising co-ordinator, Gill Gunn.

Both Matt and Gill expressed thanks to Mrs Bishop for her to convey to the Bowling Club members.
