ON Friday, April 22, a group of volunteers, the villagers of Bow, met to plant nine trees and more than 1,000 bulbs on the village hall field.
Caroline Taylor explained: “It is part one of six plans to develop what was a football pitch into a more wildlife and human friendly environment.
“Funding has been raised through a grant from Den Brook wind farm, the Devon County Council Locality Fund through Frank Letch, local people contributing directly, and Bow Parish Council donating £300 for a tree for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
“There are more trees to be bought in the Autumn, more bulbs to be planted and more seating. Lots to be done!”
