BOW Primary School were treated to a visit by former pupil Chrissie Mulindabigwi and her son Mugabo to talk about their project on Rwanda.
Zoë and Danielle, pupils at Bow school, sent their account of the visit, to the Crediton Courier:
We recently had a visit from Chrissie Mulindabigwi and her son Mugabo.
They came to our assembly and told us all about their country Rwanda.
We learned that, unlike us, they sleep on the floor of their huts, not beds and they spend most of their time outside as it is so hot.
Chrissie told us about a family of children that we are going to email.
There are no adults in their family and they have to look after each other.
Each month they collect soap, oil, rice and beans from the charity that Chrissie works with.
At school we have said that we will try and help as much as we can to support Chrissie's project.
Although Chrissie now lives in Rwanda, many people will remember her from Bow Primary School and Queen Elizabeth's Community College, Crediton.
