CHILDREN from Bow Community Primary School have recorded “A Million Dreams” from “The Greatest Showman”, and are really hoping that their song is a Number One hit.

The children also hope to raise awareness and money for charities that directly affect and impact the school.

The children, all aged between five and 11 years, play the instruments and sing the song themselves.

The children have been advised and assisted by their music and singing teacher Cameron Mills, who many will know as the renowned Devon-based tenor who performs under the name Thomas Cameron.

He has just completed a successful UK and Ireland tour and has just released his second album, “The Voice of Thomas Cameron - Christmas Edition”.

Cameron explained: “There are no words to describe how proud I am of every one of my fabulous students on this song!

“They went above and beyond my expectations and it’s one of the most amazing and rewarding things I’ve every done!

“We officially launched this song at the school on Tuesday and raised nearly £400 with initial sales of the CD.

“Myself and a couple of the kids will be on BBC Radio Devon giving it its first spin on the radio this Saturday at 8.20am! Please tune in.”

Cameron added that some children are performing solos and the whole school join in for the chorus.

He continued: “They are very proud that it is all their own work. Tom Downs (10), designed the album cover.

“The album was recorded in the school and the album really showcases the children’s talents.”

Bow School Head Teacher Lesley Hodgson, said: “The charities that the children have chosen to raise money for are CLIC Sargent and Down’s Syndrome Association.

“These are both very important to the school as one of the pupils was affected by Leukaemia and benefited from the charity.

“Also, one of the children who performs in the song has Down’s Syndrome and that is why we would love to help raise money for the association.”

She added: “I am really proud of the children and can’t thank Cameron enough for his work as music teacher here at Bow Community Primary School.”

The CDs are available at £4 each from Bow Community Primary School and it can also be purchased for 99p on iTunes.

It is also available on Spotify.
