BOW Climate Action Group (BCAG) has many exciting events planned for 2020 and began the year’s programme with a Freecycle morning at Bow Village Hall on January 18.
Village residents were invited to take with them any unwanted clothes, toys, household items, books, DVDs and tools etc and then take away with them anything they fancied.
Everyone found at least a couple of things to give a new home to, with many leaving the hall with their arms suitably full. Members of BCAG kindly baked cakes for the event and provided tea and coffee, so there were refreshments on-hand for exhausted browsers.
A raffle was also held for some excellent prizes donated by BCAG members.

Kay Coppard, BCAG Chairperson said: “Great to see so many local residents join us for our first event and also leave with a smile on their faces, especially the children who threw themselves wholeheartedly into the ‘take what you want’ invitation!
“Also, lovely to see residents mixing, having a chat and enjoying a cup of tea on a sunny Saturday morning.
“Finally, today we all did our bit to reduce waste, reuse and recycle. Big thanks to our committed BCAG members, including some of our newly joined friends that worked so hard to make the event a success.
“Please check our Facebook (BCAG) page and also the local parish magazine for exciting upcoming events in 2020. We meet on the first Monday of every month in the village hall at 7pm, hope to see you there!”
