ARE you bored with having nothing to stretch your mind during this lockdown?
If so, Crediton U3A may have the answer.
We are an organisation that appeals mainly to older members of the community, but we have no lower age limit.
Much of what we do has had to be "put on hold" during lockdown but we are running some activities online and we would like to extend an invite to anyone who would like to join our monthly talks and general knowledge quizzes.
There is no charge for "attending" our virtual meetings until the renewal date in April.
Our talks are on the third Wednesday morning of each month and the quizzes happen on the fourth Wednesday afternoon.
Over the next few months, we are having talks about The Pyrenees Ice Caves, The Saxon Era and The Death of Venice.
If you would like to join any of these events then please contact our membership secretary, Lyn, on: [email protected] .
Up-to-date information is also available on our website Crediton & District U3A: Meetings: https://u3asites.org.uk/crediton/events .
Membership of the Crediton U3A costs £12 a year and will be due in April. For this you also get access to special interest groups. Currently we run History, Poetry, Photography, Creative Writing and Mindfulness groups online.
Later in the year, we hope to resume some of our other groups, such as our trips and visits and our walking groups, which require face-to-face contact.
Why not join us and brighten up "the bleak midwinter"?
Keith Barker
