EXETER Authors’ Association held "A Celebration of Books" as part of CredFest 2017, on June 17, at Crediton Library.

The interactive, free event to celebrate writing in Devon, saw many people attend.

Local authors and poets gave 10-minute readings from their books or poems and a series of free workshops ran alongside the readings. These were available for anyone to join and included Michael Jecks introducing his historical crime novels, Jeni Braund presenting poetry for Anthony Nolan and Circle of Spears (Tracey Norman, Mark Norman and Sam Burns) on the importance of audio books.

Also taking part was Samantics, Chris Tetreault-Blay, Brian Willis and Bill Blight.

Other workshops on the day included: PJ Reed on securing a publisher; JT Scott on her "Sammy Rambles" children’s books; Richard Dee on creating fantasy worlds and Trina Stacey on writing from the heart.

The public could meet the authors and also buy some of their books.

"A Celebration of Books" included presentations about books by Mark Norman, Michael Jecks and JT Scott.

Refreshments were supplied by the Friends of Crediton Library who were raising funds for Crediton Library.
