FOLLOWING the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, a book of condolence has opened at Phoenix House, Tiverton.

If you wish to sign the book of condolence, you can do so daily between the hours of 9am and 7pm, including weekends. The book will remain open to the public until 5pm on the day following the Queen’s funeral (Tuesday, September 20).

The public is advised that there is no undercover waiting area if external queuing occurs and the weather is inclement.

For those who don’t wish to attend in person, an electronic book of condolence can be signed by visiting: royal.gov.uk .

FLOWERS

For those who wish to lay flowers in remembrance of the Queen, a dedicated area has been set up in front of Phoenix House.

Mid Devon District Council encourages anyone wishing to lay flowers to use this location and to remove and deposit the wrappings in the bins provided before laying them. Anything else left in this area will not be retained.

It will be possible to leave flowers up until 5pm on the day after the funeral. Following this, it is envisaged that the flowers will be removed, composted and the resultant material used in Mid Devon District Council’s parks and gardens.
