THE Bookery at Crediton will be holding an event with best-selling author Rachel Joyce who will talk about her new book about the power of pilgrimage.

Rachel will be discussing her book “Maureen Fry and the Angel of the North,” at The Bookery on October 19, at 7pm.

Rachel is the author of international bestsellers “The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry”, “The Love Song of Queenie Hennessy”, “The Music Shop” and most recently “Mrs Benson’s Beatle”.

Her books have sold more than five million copies worldwide and have been translated into 36 languages.

“The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry” is now a major film starring Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton. In the book Harold Fry set off on his epic journey 10 years ago, on foot, to save a friend.

In “Maureen Fry and the Angel of the North”, his wife Maureen has her own pilgrimage to make.
