THE benches are returning to Crediton’s Town Square during the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13, and so is entertainment.

On the Saturday, as part of Christmas in Crediton, Crediton Arts Centre will present two performances of a play.

This will be the telling of the story of “Baba Yaga”, which will feature live music, puppets and a small cast.

On the Sunday, CODS will present an open-air performance from 11am to 2pm.

Many solo items are being rehearsed at present and once again CODS Musical Director, Allan Fouracre, is making the long trip up from Hayle to accompany some of the performers.

Most if not all of the music will have a Christmas theme and it will be a great opportunity for many people to meet in the Square, adequately wrapped up against the cold, and to hear a live performance which for many has been a feature of life that has been so sorely missed during 2020.

There might even be a Christmas version of a group number performed last time.

Make sure you put the dates in your diary, get there early to reserve a seat (prior book for the Saturday with Crediton Arts Centre is required) and order a coffee or food and enjoy the happiness from Crediton Arts Centre and CODS to take everyone forward into what will hopefully be a much better year for all!
