AFTER 13 years as Crediton Library supervisor Béatrice Coveney has left the library to take up a post supervising Topsham and Exmouth libraries.
As a token of appreciation the Friends of Crediton Library (FoCL) presented Béatrice with a leaving gift at their September 11 meeting.
She was delighted to receive a voucher for Hotel du Vin in Exeter and said: "It’s been lovely working in Crediton and I’ve met some amazing people."
The Friends have worked with Béatrice over the last three years and will miss her very much.
FoCL chairman, Julie Maddison said: "She has been a fantastic librarian for Crediton and I think we will all miss her unique style very much!"
The new Library Supervisor, Sue Lee, was introduced at the meeting having previously worked at Exeter Library. Sue has also been a college lecturer and has a background in education as well as having admin experience. She is also able to use Makaton, a sign language used to help those with communication difficulties.
Sue said: "I have always wanted to help people and this job will give me the opportunity to do that.
"Crediton is a real community and I look forward to meeting and working with everyone."
At the end of August Beatrice was presented with flowers and cards by colleagues she had worked with at the Library.
Just a few days before Beatrice left Crediton Library, she bid a fond farewell to long-serving Library Assistant Kath Fitzgerald.
Kath was retiring after 17 years of service at the library and was presented with flowers and cards.
