THE Devon professional matchplay championship was played at Tiverton Golf Club. The event, in which the top 16 professionals from the order of merit compete in, is always a popular event.

After the first and second rounds, the semi-final line up pitted Sean Mason from Exeter against local rival Jody Bee from Exminster. The other semi final was between Devon No 1 Barry Austin from Downes Crediton and the straight hitting James Langmead from Stover.
