MEMBERS of the Devon branch of the Women's Food and Farming Union held a Christmas event at Palace Cottage, Crediton, when the guest speaker was Mrs Barbara Wood.

She spoke of her years as the wife of a local veterinary surgeon, the late Mr Roy Wood.

She recalled the times since she was a nurse to her marriage and about veterinary practice in Truro and Crediton.

Her son, Jonathan, continues the practice at Barnstaple Cross, Crediton.

The WFU members also enjoyed a bring and share lunch.
