THREE organisations have each benefited by more than £500 from a day of banger racing, held at Court Barton, Winkleigh.
At the presentation of the cheques the organisers, members of the Turner family, thanked members of the North Devon Banger Club for their help and local businesses and individuals who sponsored the various races.
Organisations which benefited were: Winkleigh village hall, (£600 plus) the Farm Crisis Network and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (£500 plus each).
A spokesman told the Courier: "Both the FCN and the RABI have given many farming families invaluable support over the last few years and this was an opportunity to say 'thank you,' in a tangible form, to help them carry on their wonderful work within the farming community."
