CHERITON Fitzpaine Parish Hall was packed for a performance of “Leviathon”, a modern ballet based loosely on the story of Moby Dick.

Ahab is a Ship’s Captain, who is hell-bent on killing the white whale, but in doing so, puts his crew in great danger and destroys himself.

The energy of the dancers was truly amazing, especially the girl who played the whale.

During the afternoon, the performers, led by James Wilton, took a masterclass with local youngsters studying ballet. They later showed off their skills before the main performance started.

The quality of their dancing and choreography was very impressive.
