CREDITON Methodist Church is encouraging people to join a Carols on the Doorstep event.
It is being promoted to all six Methodist Churches that Rev Alison Richardson has in her charge.
The Methodist Churches cover a large area around the town and are Crediton, Silverton, Cheriton Fitzpaine, Tedburn St Mary, Whiddon Down, Crockernwell.
During the run up to Christmas many people like to go to a Carol Service or Community Carol Singing event, and have a good sing with their neighbours and community.
This is going to be difficult this year and to do this safely, the churches are joining an idea promoted nationally by Newcastle Methodist Church. All are invited to join in and sing on their own doorstep.
The whole country has the chance to join in Carols on your Doorstep from 5.30pm on Sunday, December 20.
To take part, all you will need is to have a radio at hand.
That can be a DAB radio, Freeview on a TV (725) or the Premier Radio phone app. Premier Radio will play three or four carols for everyone to sing along to. A carol sheet will be posted through doors nearer the time.
This is a good chance to dust off that festive jumper or your most festive headwear if you like. It will be family-friendly so children are welcome to take along something to shake or rattle along too.
At this challenging time for all, it is hoped the event will bring a little joy to our community this Christmas.
