A REVISED plan, for 65 homes rather than 75, is to be submitted for an area off Higher Road, in the parish of Sandford but adjoining Crediton.

Neil Jillings, on behalf of Place Land LLP, has written to Crediton Town and Sandford Parish Councils as well as local Mid Devon District Councils to say that a revised application will be submitted for up to 65 dwellings this week.

He said that this will be accompanied by a full suite of supporting documents as advised by and agreed with Simon Trafford (Mid Devon District Council planing officer) during pre-application discussions last year.

Mr Jillings adds that he looks forward to attending future town and parish council meetings once the application has been registered.

A public consultation was held about the previous plan at Sandford Cricket Club on Wednesday, October 25.

The site is a narrow strip of land running alongside Higher Road, Crediton, most of which falls within Sandford Parish but outside the Mid Devon District Council housing settlement boundary.

Previously, Mr Jillings said it was a long thin field shielded by woodlands and said there would be a buffer zone around the woodland.

He confirmed previously that one option being considered was the closure of a section of Higher Road and downgrading it for pedestrian/cycle routes.

Traffic, he added, could be diverted through the development site on a dedicated road, however it is not known if this is still included in the revised plan.

It is anticipated that, as with the Creedy Bridge (Pedlarspool) proposal, that any Section 106 monies would go to Crediton Town Council rather than Sandford Parish Council.
