DOWNES Crediton Golf Club Seniors held their Canadian Foursomes Pairs competition on Monday, November 16, which saw some tremendous scoring across the board with the leading two pairs having to be separated by the smallest of margins to find the eventual winners.

Graham Browne and David Jordan and Joe Liversage and John Stevens tied on 45 points after 18 holes and could not be separated by a better back nine, six, three or one holes.

Neither could the back 10 holes find a result and it was only on the last 11 holes that finally Graham Browne and David Jordan took the victory.

Colin Parr and David Lee finished third scoring 43 points and beating two other pairs with a better back nine.

The Ladies played their Christmas Stableford on Thursday, November 19. The result remains a secret until prizes are handed out at their Christmas meal next month but fun was had with some fine scoring as well.

Saturday, November 21 saw all sections of the Club join in the second seasonal competition, The Christmas Poultry Team Stableford.

Winning was the last team off the course consisting of seasoned campaigners Mike Nott and Andy Frankum who teamed up with Will Cockerham to post a score of 79 points.

Leading for a big part of the day, but eventually finishing second, were Stephen Pitt, Mark Cummins and Matt Redstone also scoring 79 points but losing with an inferior back nine.

One point further back (78 points) in third were Simon Baker, Adrian Cram and Colin Baker.

The leading mixed team on the day consisted of Fran Shrubsole, Tony Sykes and David Taylor scoring 75 points.
