THE village of Cheriton Fitzpaine will hold its second annual Wassailing evening tomorrow, Saturday, January 20, starting at 6.30pm outside the Ring of Bells.
More than 200 people attended last year’s event.
Plans include a procession from the pub to Jack’s Acre, the playing field in the village, where some new apple trees have been planted for the occasion.
It will also include Morris Men, a fire eater, witches, two live bands in the pub skittle alley from 8.15pm, apple bobbing, cider and apple juice tasting and apple cake for all.
There will be a Wassailing Queen, Prince and Princess, singing and food available at the pub until 9pm.
All those who go along are encouraged to take along pots and pans to bash to make a noise and burnt toast to hang in the chosen tree.
