SATURDAY, March 26 sees a visit to Crediton Arts Centre from the acclaimed folk duo Suthering.

Taking their name from John Clare’s poem “The Autumn Wind”, Julu Irvine and Heg Brignall have come together to mesmerising effect and captivated the folk world through live performances around the clubs of the UK, as well as performances at Sidmouth Folk Week, Cambridge Folk Festival, and Glastonbury Festival.

Their interwoven vocals and pure harmonies combine with a connection to nature and a focus on the female perspective so often ignored in folk music, to create magical, hope-filled and engaging stories, beautifully rounded with delicate and sympathetic accompaniment on piano and guitar.

Suthering’s unique storytelling and recasting of traditional songs, described by writer Terry O’Brien as “delicate, harmonious and thoroughly English”, is a real treat for audiences.

Julu and Heg will be conducting a singing workshop from 2pm to 4pm, with a concert at 7.30pm. Tickets at £10/£8 (£12 for workshop and performance combined) are available from:
