WITH the end of summer it’s the start of the next season of cultural goodies brought to you courtesy of Crediton Arts Centre.

We begin our Autumn programme on September 18 with a wine tasting evening featuring Bruce Evans of Grape and Grain – come and sample six wines and find out more about how they are produced.

An added bonus is that the audience will be invited to choose which of the six wines it would like the Arts Centre bar to stock in the future, so come and have your say!

Following that on September 25 we are excited to have Owdyado Theatre visiting us to present Above Bored set in a police interrogation room where a woman is being questioned following the death of her boss.

Other theatre productions include a Red Dragonfly Production of Diao Chan – The Rise of the Courtesan on November 6 and for children on November 7 at 3pm The Owl and The Pussycat’s Treasury of Nonsense presented by Soap Soup Theatre.

Our East Street film on October 15 will be Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Why not read the book before you come to the film and stay on to have a short discussion about both the book and film?

Science also gets an airing with Mike and Wendy Gluyas on October 9. This will be a fun talk about science called Musical Squares – Adventures in Sound.

Ever wondered how musical instruments work, how bats and dolphins see in the dark or even why a cow’s moo is different from a sheep’s baa? – well now is your chance to find out.

Other highlights include the East Street Acoustic evenings.

On October 30 Sam Hill who, having just released his latest album Cowboys and Moonbeams, will perform his mix of gospel, bluegrass and Scottish folk music – one not to be missed.

Then on November 28 Pat Orchard, singer and guitar player, will perform his unique set having toured with artists such as Annie Lennox, Johnny Cash and Randy Crawford.

The Acoustic season is rounded off in fine style on December 19 with a Yuletide Extravaganza showing some of the amazing local talent we have here in and around Crediton.

And finally we are delighted to host an exhibition Painting in Felt by Martine Luce Colombe from October 25 to November 1.

More information on all of the above and more can be found on our website: www.creditonartscentre.org .

Please do come along – you’ll be very welcome. We’re in East Street, Crediton opposite the Parish Church.

Tickets can be purchased on-line or from the Crediton Arts Centre, Crediton Community Bookshop and Sandford Community Shop.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
