THIS image of an articulated lorry trying to reverse out of Church Street in Crediton and across Belle Parade into Newcombes could be a sign of things to come when South West Water begin works and diversions are put in place for four weeks from January 25.

Lorries travelling up Blagdon, normally following a SatNav, attempt to drive down Church Street, which is not suitable for lorries.

Fortunately, the driver of this lorry on Wednesday morning had realised the road was unsuitable before proceeding too far down Church Street.

Crediton Town Council negotiated with Devon County Council to have signs placed in the area which state that the road is unsuitable for lorries and these were installed last year.
