LAPFORD Revel had something for everyone from the very youngest to the very eldest at its 2018 event.
It started gently with the Rose and Sweet Pea competition on the first day, and a fantastic Carnival procession which included a giant representation of Thomas A Becket, also known as St Thomas of Canterbury.
The Carnival procession on the Thursday evening (July 12), was followed by the coronation of the Revel King, Queen and performances by local children Maypole Dancing and dancing by the Great Western Morris.
Art and Story competitions were judged throughout the week.
Fair Day on the Saturday offered a lively programme of activities, traditional games and stalls, great food and bar, dog show, pony rides, climbing wall, rodeo, the ubiquitous bouncy castle and hilarity from Anna Banana.
There was a Grand draw, Tug-O-War and the competition for The Bill Phillips Skittles cup.
Gordon’s Algiers Strutters provide traditional jazz accompaniment during the afternoon, followed by covers from Paul Adams, an evening Ceilidh and disco until midnight.
The Revel closed on the Sunday evening with a service featuring a play telling the story of St Thomas of Canterbury and featuring solo performances from Cathryn Seymour.
