A SERIOUS road traffic accident has closed the A3072 near Stone Cross, North Tawton.

An unknown number of vehicles are believed to be involved.

Traffic diversions are in operation between de Bathe Cross and Nichols Nymet Cross but country roads and lanes are congested.

Police are in attendance.

A Devon Air Ambulance has landed at North Tawton Rugby Club.

The incident is believed to have happened at about 6.30pm but the time has yet to be confirmed.
