POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information following reports of a burglary at a store in Exeter City Centre.

Officers were contacted just before 11.15pm on Wednesday, May 3 to reports of a break in at a mobile phone store on Exeter High Street.

Investigation officer DI Guy Biggar said: “We are currently investigating a high value burglary which happened in the 3G Ltd store in the City Centre.

“Four men in balaclavas were reported to have fled the scene in a black car with a large quantity of equipment, believed to be worth tens of thousands of pounds.

“The suspects left in a black VW Golf with registration OV66 LKX. It is believed that the suspects then changed the registration plates and made its way up the M5.

“Officers carried out immediate searches of the area, assisted by the police helicopter.

“Colleagues from Avon and Somerset Police made one arrest of a male and our enquiries continue to apprehend other suspects.

“I’m keen to hear from anyone who was travelling in the area overnight and into the early hours on Thursday, May 4.

“I’d ask anyone with any relevant dashcam footage or CCTV footage in the area which may assist our enquires, to report it to us via our website.”
