DEVON and Cornwall Police has confirmed that a person was taken to hospital after being headbutted outside a hotel housing asylum seekers near Exeter.
The incident took place during the afternoon of Saturday, October 25.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We received a report of assault related to protests outside the Hampton by Hilton hotel on Saturday afternoon.
“It was reported that a person had been headbutted and taken to hospital.
“Our enquiries are ongoing.”
The hotel, near Exeter Airport, has been housing asylum seekers for many months.
The incident follows a protest and counter-protest in Exeter earlier in the day in Exeter but it is not known if any of the same people were involved.
