THE A377 is closed in both directions following a report of a large tree falling across the road near Umberleigh.

The closure is in place between the B3227 (Rising Sun Hotel) and Pound Lane.

It is believed that the tree fell at about 8pm today, Sunday, December 7.

The advice is to avoid the area.
